![]() ![]() If PE players who I'm sure a majority of use touch controls then surely it should be fine for those with controllers too? Maybe the games weren't configured properly or something for console players but this doesn't make sense if you ask me. InPVP or Mineplex severs didn't pull this exact stunt so why did LB do it? They had a scummy move in the Beta where you couldn't play certain Mini-games if you were signed into XBL. Probably glad the last & only time I touched Lifeboat was in the Better Together (Bedrock) Beta. It'd be nice if I could just let my players decide and do my own thing. I'm interested in seeing where Bedrock protocol support for Java servers goes. But for those of us that do, Bedrock is kind of an abhorrent mutation of the Minecraft we grew to love. Now a lot of people don't mind this, as you can see from the popularity of F2P games and loot boxes. Bedrock definitely is designed for 1st and 3rd party profits on microtransactions, riding the wave of a trend in the last several years. I've seen the same thing for some content creators. ![]() They weren't interested in playing it themselves. From a server owner perspective, I've seen a lot of admins talk about making Bedrock servers only because they think it'll be profitable, talking about how kids were moving to it. This has shifted over the years for Minecraft, which is why Mojang decided to start enforcing their EULA. Dedicated servers have historically been this way for most games, taking donations to pay for the server costs only. It's just people having fun, creating communities, playing the game. There are thousands of servers that aren't designed to make money. All this accomplishes is annoying the playerbase, causing them to stop playing.Īll these things combined pressure you into buying VIP, just so you don't have to deal with these useless restrictions to free players. If you aren't VIP and those 2 hours are up, get the fuck off our server, or pay up. ![]() To annoy you into buying VIP, they impose a 2-hour time limit each day for non-VIP's. Oh, but if you get VIP, you don't have to re-select your kit every game! And you can fly there, reducing the amount of time it takes to get there! This wastes your time each time you want to pick a different kit. Unlike a normal, non-scummy server, these guys put the kit selection area in a hard to reach area, making you walk a long way, or putting it behind some parkour. "Oh, to be a VIP!" "Wouldn't it be cool to be a VIP?" "VIP costs 10 dollars and lasts a lifetime" When you try to join while the cooldown is active, the server outright begs for you to buy VIP. But, if you buy VIP, you can bypass this. Normally, you have to wait 5-10 seconds to join a server and start playing a minigame. The next thing I would like to list here is the cooldown on joining servers. They act like VIP is the best thing on earth, and sometimes even beg for you to buy it. While most other servers do this, Lifeboat does it in the most annoying way possible. Every few minutes, it puts a VIP ad in the chat. Lifeboat was previously a Pocket Edition server, and having played Pocket Edition for quite a while, I have seen first-hand how much crap they are getting away with. Lifeboat, one of the Better Together servers has been doing some very scummy practices. (#spoiler) = neat!
